France funds rehabilitation of Limpopo national Park

4 September 2007

The French Development Agency will fund restoration and "biodiversity and ecosystem" protection projects in the Limpopo National Park in Mozambique.

The newspaper Noticias reported that AFD has pledged €11,5million to finance a highway between Mapai and Massingir.

The Limpopo National Park management said the participation of the French state development agency would strengthen the capacity to implement modernisation projects in the reserve, part of the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Park, along with Kruger Park and Gonarezhou Park in Zimbabwe.
